Primary Purpose:

The Talent Management team is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Talent Management Employment Experience Generalist I to support the delivery of human resources services across campuses and departments. This position provides entry-level HR support in employee relations, compliance, onboarding, and HR operations. The Generalist I focuses on accurate documentation, timely follow-through, and consistent service delivery while upholding Uplift’s values of equity, professionalism, and operational excellence.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide initial HR support to campus and CMO staff by answering routine questions related to policy, attendance, leave, onboarding, and general employee relations.
  • Assist HR Business Partners in gathering facts, scheduling interviews, preparing documents, and supporting workplace investigations under close guidance.
  • Support mediation, grievance, and complaint processes by preparing documentation, logging records, and ensuring required steps are followed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of employment laws and assist in ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, FLSA, TEA, SBEC, and other HR regulations.
  • Manage portions of the onboarding and offboarding process, including collecting documentation, monitoring background check status, and ensuring accuracy of new-hire records.
  • Process employee information in HRIS, including entering updates, auditing data, and maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Assist in tracking and documenting annual compliance activities such as certification audits, required trainings, and handbook acknowledgments.
  • Support the implementation, tracking, and recordkeeping of Performance Development Plans (PDPs), documented counseling, and evaluations.
  • Help coordinate professional learning opportunities, trainings, and HR-related resources for campus and departmental staff.
  • Compile and prepare basic HR data, reports, and trend summaries to support the work of HR Business Partners and leadership.
  • Partner collaboratively with Legal, Talent Management, Operations, and Compliance by providing administrative support and assisting in coordination.
  • Help foster positive employee relations by providing responsive customer service and reinforcing a culture of respect and engagement.
  • Participate in People Team initiatives focused on continuous improvement, HR efficiency, and employee experience enhancements.


Education, Experience, And/or Certification(s)

  • Education Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related area
  • Experience Requirements:
    • 2 years of applicable experience as an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner with meaningful experience resolving complex employee relations issues
    • HR experience in the K-12 public education setting is highly preferred
    • Foundational knowledge of talent management disciplines such as employee relations, compliance, onboarding, performance management, or data auditing
  • Special Skills/Certifications:
    • Meaningful hands-on experience and Core-level proficiency with talent management concepts and working knowledge of all pertinent Federal, state, and local regulations affecting Human Resources, including FLSA, EEO, HIPAA, FMLA, and ADA
    • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or PHR credential strongly preferred


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Communication Skills:
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interpret information clearly and concisely communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders.
    • Ability to maintain and project professionalism, internally and externally, at all times.
  • Bilingual Skills: Spanish desirable; not required
  • Technology:
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced features of Excel, possess the ability to use basic office equipment, and the ability to learn and use other software as necessary (Frontline, Workday, etc.).


Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.


Work Environment:

  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Dallas/Ft Worth.


Starting Salary: $57,000
