JOB DESCRIPTION

Job title: Care Partner

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position summary:

To assist nursing staff. Work cooperatively and respectfully with resident, coworkers, families, visitors, and volunteers.

Position responsibilities:

• Answer resident call lights promptly and courteously.

• Operate washer, dryer, and other laundry equipment.

• Assist in folding, stacking, hanging, and distributing linen to the correct location.

• Sweep, dust, and mop as needed.

• Empty and change liners in all waste cans daily and when needed.

• Clean and wash all basins and commodes as needed.

• Clean resident rooms daily

• Protect the personal belongings with each resident, including eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids, jewelry, clothing, and memorabilia.

• Perform all job responsibilities with safety and infection control procedures including thorough handwashing, use of disposable gloves, and proper disposal of soiled materials.

• Be accountable.

Essential skill and experience:

Time management, proficient reading and writing, and intrapersonal relations, good communication skills, computer proficiency.

Nonessential skill and experience:

• Adhere to all Uplands policies.

• Provide individualized attention, which encourages each resident’s ability to maintain or attain the highest practical psychosocial well-being.

• Walk extensively to and from rooms as assigned.

• Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, coworkers, and supervisors.

• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary laundry area.

• Assist in maintain a clean, safe, and neat environment.

• Maintain the comfort, dignity, and privacy of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment.

• Be reliable and prompt for work on days scheduled.
