Position Title: Surgical Technician
Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville Hospital Campus
Role & Department: Surgical Technician in the Surgical Services Department
Hours & Shift: Part-time (0.8 FTE) Day Shift Position (6:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.), with on-call responsibilities
Role Responsibilities:
- The Surgical Technician, under the guidance of the registered nurse and surgeon, is responsible for the care and safety of the patients who come under his/her care
- Included within this, is the responsibility to communicate effectively with the registered nurse, the patient, other staff, and physicians
- Person is responsible for the safe and appropriate sterile processing of surgical equipment and instrumentation
- Responsible for clerical duties as assigned by departmental director, such as but not limited to, responding to phone calls, verification of patient charges, collecting departmental statistics
- Candidates should have a basic knowledge of computerized spreadsheets, word processing and data input
Qualifications:
- Candidates should have a technical college education/degree in an Operating Room Technician program or equivalent experience in a Operating Room Technician position
- Prior health care experience is preferred
- Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to provide high-quality patient care
- Must have excellent communication skills and be very dependable and have some flexibility with their personal schedules
- Previous experience with the Microsoft Office Suite programs is beneficial
