Position Title: Director of Maternal/Child Services (Obstetrics)
Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville Hospital Campus
Role & Department: Director of Maternal/Child Services - Obstetrics Department
Hours & Shift: Full-time exempt status (1.0 FTE) day shift position, Monday through Friday schedule, some evening/night, and weekend hours are expected for staff training/drills as well as for patient care, when needed.
Role Responsibilities:
- This position plans, organizes, and directs patient care activities in the Obstetrical Department, that includes labor & delivery, postpartum, nursery, and antepartum visits.
- Implements and monitors standards of care for obstetrical nursing practice and develops policies and procedures to reflect best practice.
- Obtains and controls equipment and supplies.
- Prepares, monitors, and evaluates an annual budget, operational plan, and performance improvement plan.
- Interviews, hires, supervises, and evaluates nursing and support personnel.
- Responsible for contracts and charge master for the department.
- Participates in nursing leadership activities and the organizational strategic planning and implementation process.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
- Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin
- 3 years of experience in Obstetrical nursing with NRP certification preferred
- Two years of supervisory experience would be preferred
- Effective interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proficient in computerized medical record documentation
- Knowledgeable of The Joint Commission, CMS, AWHONN, ACOG, AAP, and other applicable standards.
