The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor leads and develops warehouse staff through hands-on guidance and training while setting the standard by example. The position is responsible for supervising, mentoring, and monitoring employee performance to ensure procedures, policies, and operational goals are consistently met. The individual oversees daily activities, including scheduling, shipping, receiving, and inventory management, while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. This role also supports departmental operations and ensures inventory levels meet customer and operational needs, with opportunities for growth and advancement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervises warehouse shipping and receiving operators and tasks.
• Works well as part of a team leader towards common company goals.
• Trains operators on procedures, policies, and duties.
• Writes work aids and instructions when needed.
• Ensures cGMP, Food Safety, and ISO 9001 quality standards are met daily.
• Assigns work orders. Checks orders for accuracy.
• Acts as a backup as needed to keep orders shipping on time.
• Communicates well in written and spoken English.
• Obtains a basic knowledge of operating warehouse machinery and equipment.
• Inspects work done for accuracy and completeness and resolves inconsistencies.
• Maintains a clean area and proper stocking levels of supplies in the work area.
• Works in an organized fashion while paying close attention to detail.
• Offers feedback on work status, requesting new tasks as old ones complete.
• Helps organize cycle counts and enters inventory data into the ERP.
• Ensure standard operating procedures, rules, and regulations are followed.
• Efficiently carries out all instructions from managers.
• Improves overall warehouse appearance. Ensures housekeeping & maintenance checklists are done.
• Cross trains and acts as fill in for all staff members, as necessary.
• Wears required personal protective equipment, (PPE) as instructed.
• Becomes familiar with hazardous materials transportation, storage & disposal regulations.
• Ensures quality objectives and shipping deadlines are met.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum associate degree or higher. Experience working in a cGMP, FDA regulated food, pharma chemical facility. Other helpful knowledge or experience; warehousing, inventory control, production, maintenance of equipment, forklifts, and working with chemicals.
Salary : $38,000 - $55,000
