Responsibilities
- Construct, repair, and restore chimneys, fireplaces, and other masonry structures using concrete forming, rebar installation, and bricklaying techniques.
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately interpret project requirements and ensure precise execution.
- Operate power tools and heavy equipment safely to facilitate efficient construction processes.
- Apply skills in stucco, plastering, caulking, tile laying, and trim carpentry to enhance structural integrity and visual appeal.
- Install metal stud framing and perform roofing tasks as needed for chimney or fireplace installations.
- Conduct concrete finishing, masonry restoration, and renovation work with attention to detail for a polished final product.
- Collaborate with team members on site to coordinate tasks such as heavy equipment operation, scaffolding setup, and site safety protocols.
- Maintain all tools and equipment in excellent condition; adhere strictly to safety standards at all times.
- Assist in construction estimating by providing accurate material take-offs and labor assessments for project planning.
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction sites with a focus on masonry or chimney building is required.
- Strong knowledge of concrete forming, rebar installation, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and masonry techniques.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and scaffolding setup.
- Familiarity with restoration projects involving stucco, plastering, caulking, tile laying, framing carpentry (including metal stud framing), roofing, and renovation work.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and follow detailed schematics for complex installations.
- Prior experience in construction estimating is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
