Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:
Level 1 Technician will be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing trucks.
Essential Job Functions
Will be able to Inspect, identify, diagnose, & repair/replace the following items, unsupervised
Truck Repairs
Lighting/Electrical, batteries, brakes (including air system), steering components, suspension, wheel ends and hubs (including seals), fifth wheel components, drive train and all other vital parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition.
Trailer Repairs
Lighting/Electrical, brakes (including air system), wheel ends and hubs (including seals), bottom & top rails, Corner radius, nose rails, side panels, side posts, doors, & all door components, door headers, door posts, roof, roof bows flooring, cross member, all chassis components and abs systems
Annual Inspections/Service, to include lubing truck and trailer chassis components, changing fuel and oil filters. Replacing engine oil with new and performing coolant flushes.
Tires, to include yard inspections for DOT compliance, replace tire and rim off truck & trailers. Mount and dismounts tires from steel and aluminum rims in order to provide the shop with an adequate inventory of mounted tires
Ensure compliance with federal and state vehicle repair requirements
Will maintain a clean and organized working environment
Other duties may be assigned by Service Manager
