Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
• Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including restorations, cleanings, extractions, and pediatric treatments.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, verifying insurance information, and scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist.
• Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
• Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment.
• Support administrative tasks such as documenting medical terminology, coding procedures for billing purposes, and managing electronic health records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Assist with advanced technology operations including 3D scanners and other digital imaging tools used in general dentistry and pediatrics.
• Uphold confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA guidelines while handling sensitive medical documentation and records.
• Engage in four-handed dentistry practices with the dentist to improve efficiency during procedures involving endodontics or prosthodontics.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques is essential.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix enhances your ability to manage medical records efficiently.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation practices related to dental procedures.
• Excellent communication skills suitable for working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics.
