An exciting opportunity for a Purchaser is now available. We are seeking an energetic, highly organized individual to perform a variety of duties to purchase supplies, services and equipment for the hospital, clinics and other business. The Purchaser is an important member of the Materials Management team that will be relied upon to follow through with the purchasing process from start to finish while maintaining the master files for both in stock and non-stock items in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory and healthcare supply management.
- Ability to use purchasing software and experience with spreadsheet computer applications.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor's degree preferred
1 year in healthcare field preferred
2 years experience as a buyer preferred
3 years in healthcare related materials management department preferred
Annual influenza vaccination or declination required
