UP Education Network manages and operates five schools in Boston and Lawrence, MA, serving more than 2,600 elementary and middle school students. UP is invited by local school districts to restart chronically underperforming district schools as UP Academies. Each UP Academy shares the same mission: to ensure that students acquire the knowledge, skills, and strength of character necessary to succeed on the path to college and to achieve their full potential. 

 

Role
The Operations Manager plays a central role in ensuring a well-run, efficient, and responsive school. In addition to maintaining the school’s administrative systems and routines, the Operations Manager will support the School Leadership Team by completing various school-wide projects related to operations, school assessment and accountability, community relations, and strategic planning. The Operations Manager must be able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, families, trustees, donors, and visitors.

Specific Responsibilities

 

  • Implement and enhance the school’s systems and culture
  • Develop the strategy and implementation plan for school-wide projects
  • Create an accountability plan to ensure the successful delivery of school-wide initiatives
  • Collect school performance data and create data presentations
  • Greet families at student open houses or registration (including periodic Saturdays)
  • Work with School Leadership Team to ensure that all government and authorized grant proposals and reports are completed on time
  • Support data-entry and maintenance of school-wide daily systems (student attendance, student discipline system, etc.)
  • Support coordination of logistics and preparations for school events and activities as needed

 

Qualifications

    • A strong belief in UP Education Network’s core values: Students, Community, Humility, Resilience, and Humor
    • Bachelor’s degree is preferred

 

  • Current authorization to work in the United States – A candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment

 

Compensation and Benefits


Your salary is commensurate with experience; UP Academy follows the salary scales of each UP Academy’s host school district.  As an employee of UP Academy and your respective school district, you will receive the same access to personal and sick days, health insurance, and dental insurance as others within your union.
