Overview
The Clinical Assistant provides clinical patient care support in a caring, safe, and efficient manner, under the supervision and delegation of the Registered Nurse. In collaboration with patients and families (as defined by the patient) the Clinical Assistant is responsible for the care of the patient. The Clinical Assistant adheres to and is supportive of the hospital and the department of Nursing mission and philosophy.

The following are Essential Functions for this Role:
1. Assist Nursing and Attending Cardiologist with Transesophageal Echocardiograms, Cardioversions and Pharmacologic Stress TEEs.2. Exhibit knowledge of patient preparation for all TEE procedures per MD instruction.3. Prepares TEE room according to MD preference.4. Organizes TEE stock and alerts appropriate personnel of stock needs.5. Disinfects TEE probe according to policy.6. Exhibits knowledge of EKG: application of electrodes and performance.7. Competent in airway management techniques.8. Additional Duties as Assigned
Qualifications
Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):
• High School Graduate or equivalent.• Completion of approved nursing assistant training and CNA certification preferred.• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider - BLS Required
Experience (required and preferred):
• Completion of approved nursing assistant training preferred and CNA certification preferred
