Research Associate, Molecular Development (copy)

Until
San Francisco, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 4/25/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/22/2026
Until is a moonshot company building a “pause button” for biology. Our near-term focus is organ-scale reversible cryopreservation: preserving donated organs at subzero temperatures without ice formation, then rewarming them uniformly for transplant. By solving this grand challenge, we’re laying the foundation for whole-body reversible cryopreservation, giving patients a bridge to future cures.

To achieve our goal, we are assembling an interdisciplinary team to develop perfusion systems, cryoprotectant formulations, and vitrification and rewarming hardware.

We envision a future where no transplantable organ is lost to logistics, and no terminal diagnosis is final because patients can safely wait for future medicine to arrive.

About The Role
As a Research Associate, you will play a vital role to drive the execution and analysis of high-throughput molecular discovery across in vitro models and tissues. The primary focus of this role will be to execute, optimize, and troubleshoot wet lab experiments including mammalian cell culture, automated screening experiments using liquid handling robotics, plate-reader based assays, microscopy, and flow cytometry.

The person in this role is encouraged to take on significant ownership of specific technical challenges. As a research associate, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with team members to develop new protocols and assays screening and developing new molecules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute high-throughput screening (HTS) assays to support a molecular discovery pipeline, utilizing automated liquid handlers
  • Perform microplate-based assays (fluorescence, luminescence, absorbance), microscopy, and genomics (qPCR, RNA-seq) experiments to support the molecular discovery pipeline
  • Maintain and experiment with various mammalian cell-based in vitro models (immortalized, primary and stem cells)
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate experimental findings into practical solutions
  • Ensure meticulous, accurate, and timely experimental collection, data analysis, and data reporting/presentation

Who You Are
