Job Summary
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for directing and overseeing all activities in the Shipping department. This role ensures orders are processed accurately, shipped on time, and in compliance with customer and vendor requirements. The Supervisor provides strong leadership to department staff, manages performance, and maintains a safe, efficient, and organized work environment.
Shift: Monday - Friday 9am – 5pm

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for directing and overseeing all activities in the Shipping department. This role ensures orders are processed accurately, shipped on time, and in compliance with customer and vendor requirements. The Supervisor provides strong leadership to department staff, manages performance, and maintains a safe, efficient, and organized work environment.
Shift: Monday - Friday 9am – 5pm
Essential Duties
- Directs daily shipping operations to ensure orders are processed, packed, and shipped on schedule to meet customer deadlines.
- Analyzes workload and order priorities to maximize efficiency in preparation and shipment of orders.
- Route all Retail orders according to each customer’s routing lead times and routing frequency requirements, ensuring compliance before ship dates.
- Follow-up with carries to make sure orders are getting picked up.
- Schedules and monitors ship dates to prevent retail order cancellations due to missed deadlines.
- Reviews and enforces retail vendor compliance specifications; communicates changes to the team and production management in a timely manner.
- Investigates and disputes customer chargebacks as needed; communicates findings to retail customers to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintains accurate records of shipments, production, attendance, and payroll for department employees.
- Provides leadership for all employees in the Shipping department; facilitates regular team meetings, conducts performance reviews, and oversees performance improvement plans when required.
- Partners with HR recruitment team to interview and select candidates for hire; ensures proper onboarding and training of new employees.
- Trains and supports shift personnel and leads on department standards, procedures, and equipment; facilitates employee development and cross-training opportunities.
- Coordinates with maintenance staff and/or vendors when equipment repairs are needed; promptly notifies department management of equipment damage or downtime.
- Creates and enforces a safety-focused work environment; investigates incidents, implements corrective procedures, and communicates with the Work Comp/Safety Officer on injuries or modified duty request.
- Reviews, adjusts, and approves weekly time records for department employees in the STA Time & Attendance system.
- Bachelor’s degree plus two years’ relevant work experience
- Relevant work experience can be exchanged for years of college education at a rate of 1:1. Thus, without any college preparation, six years of relevant work experience is required.
- Previous supervisory/management experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Excel and Word software. Proficiency with ACCESS database and/or ORACLE software a plus.
- Bilingual English-Spanish is a plus.
- Work with power equipment
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Might work in a non-climate controlled environment with high temperature
