What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Patient Financial Services position at UNLV Health?
The Patient Financial Services (PFS) Director is responsible and accountable for the strategic planning, leadership and ongoing continuous quality and process improvement of Patient Financial Services for UNLV Medicine. This position will provide direct oversight and ensure optimal coordination of the following components: accounts receivable management, coding, billing, collections, denials management and vendor management.
The PFS Director will ensure that the capture, coding, billing and collection of practice revenue is accurate, efficient, within all compliance guidelines and timely. The PFS Director will ensure payor contracts and payor reimbursements are optimized.

- Office Hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM (Actual hours may vary depending on business need)
- 12 Full-Day and 2 Half-Day Paid Holidays per year, starting with your first day of employment
- 22 PTO days per year! (Depending on Position)

- Pay may be higher than stated range, based on years of experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare related field required
- Master’s Degree Preferred
- Minimum 5 years healthcare management experience with three of these years in the related area for the position.
- Coding certification required; CPC, CCS.
- Must possess the following skills: Above Average Verbal, Writing/Composing, Correspondence/Reports, Analytical, Design, Medical Terminology, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- May include standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periods
- May include performing repetitive tasks
- May include lifting up to 25 pounds
