About Us:

Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, our plastic surgery practice specializes in aesthetic procedures of the breast and body, as well as non-surgical cosmetic treatments. While our office includes a fully accredited surgical facility, this position is entirely administrative and focused on insurance operations rather than clinical or surgical duties.

Our practice prioritizes accuracy, reliability, and exceptional patient service. We value team members who are collaborative, detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to ensuring a smooth and transparent financial experience for our patients. Our office is conveniently located just a few blocks from Grand Central Station, Rockefeller Center, and Times Square—making it easily accessible by all major public transportation.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Insurance Specialist to join our administrative team on a full-time, in-office basis. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in medical insurance operations, with strong proficiency in out-of-network processes, gap exceptions, and single case agreements (SCAs). Experience in plastic surgery is also preferred but not required.

This is an on-site position, five days per week.

Responsibilities:

Verify commercial and out-of-network insurance benefits.

Collaborate with external billing companies as needed.

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in our Symplast EMR.

Apply knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding (being a certified coder is definitely a plus).

Ensure timely and organized communication with patients regarding financial obligations and insurance matters.

Uphold a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience as an insurance specialist in a medical practice.

Strong experience with out-of-network billing and benefit verification.

Experience in plastic surgery or another out-of-network specialty preferred.

Proficiency with gap exceptions, SCAs, authorizations, pre-determinations, and denials.

Experience using our Symplast EMR or willingness to learn.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain insurance decisions to patients clearly and professionally.

Compensation & Benefits:

$27–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Paid weekly.

Comprehensive benefits package per practice policy.
