Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Plymouth, MI
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday- Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM | In Office
Rate: Starting at $21.00
Position Summary
We're looking for a confident, customer-focused Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our customers and service team. This role combines accounts receivable, billing, invoicing, customer service, and payment follow-up. You'll communicate with customers throughout the day, send invoices and statements, follow up on outstanding payments, and help research and resolve billing questions or issues.
What You'll Do
- Own inbound and outbound customer phone calls and emails relating to Billing and Accounts Receivable functions
- Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining strong relationships while collecting payment via phone and email
- Send invoices and statements, often utilizing customer billing portals
- Process credit card payments and verify customer billing information
- Research and resolve billing or invoice issues
- Work with service, dispatch, parts, warranty, and accounting teams
- Maintain accurate customer records and documentation
What We're Looking For
- Customer service, billing, AR, or collections experience
- Strong ability to communicate effectively via phone and email with customer and internal teams
- Comfortable asking customers for payment and following up
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Experience with Excel and Microsoft office suite
- Experience with billing and invoicing procedures, warranty experience a plus!
- Previous service industry or related experience a plus (HVAC, Foodservice, Etc...)
- You are dependable and thrive working in a team environment
Physical Requirements
- Working primarily in an office environment.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move office supplies, equipment, and boxes.
- Comfortable sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
- Ability to operate standard office technology and equipment.
