Bunzl Processor Division is looking for a strong sales leader with a track record of excellence in driving sales forces to produce aggressive profitable growth in the local market. The Sales Manager of Field Sales Development is a vital and integral piece of our overall success. This position is based in the Kansas City area.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain leadership, training, and development of BPD sales efforts, including management and training of future field sales representatives. This includes the Sales Internship program.
- Continue development of key customers and target accounts with on-going growth to ensure meeting or exceeding established expectations through hands-on training with our Field Sales Development team.
- Develop programs that further facilitate product growth within customer base.
- Training of FSD team to be focused on AS400, VIP sales training, product training, continuous improvement, and company initiatives including Level 5 Selling and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- Assist the Director of Market Expansion with other projects and initiatives, as necessary.
- Communicate and coordinate with internal staff (Purchasing, Sales Support, Warehousing, Accounting and Sales staff) to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Drive a strong customer service mentality and continue building current customer relationships, leading the team by example.
- Develop and deploy sales and customer specific sales strategies.
- Some direct account responsibility may be needed to build new territories for future expansion.
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales and margin goals.
- Establish and extend relationships between BPD and colleges/universities.
- Attend and establish BPD presence at college career fairs and Sales Competitions
- Identify and recruit talent from multiple sources.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount of professional experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience with a proven track record selling in competitive markets, previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Previous experience in sales to the food processing industry strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to understand market in which you are selling and the deployment of resources that ensure maximum coverage and product exposure.
- Proficient PC skills required; AS400/iSeries experience is preferred.
- Utilize all appropriate VIP (Dimensions of Professional Selling) techniques and methodologies.
- Must possess executive level communication skills; including the ability to sell the concept of improving operating efficiencies while demonstrating value added benefits to executive management.
- Success contacting and making presentation to key people within customer organizations from purchasing managers, general managers, presidents and owners.
- Must possess strong planning, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with strong leadership skills and a creative initiator with the ability to motivate.
- Team orientated with excellent customer service and selling skills.
- Ability to travel required, with occasional multi-night and/or weekend stays.
