What are the responsibilities and job description for the Local Seasonal Driver - Monte Package position at Unlimited Potential?
Monte Package Company, a Bunzl company located in Riverside, MI, is hiring a 2026 Seasonal Driver for local routes. We are looking for an additional driver to assist us during our peak season (mid-May through mid-September). The driver will transport products in a safe manner and follow proper DOT regulations to/from local farmers and packers.
The Driver will typically work 40 - 55 hours per week during peak season. This is a local route position - home nightly!
Responsibilities:
- Operate tractor-trailer combination in a safe and professional manner at all times
- Deliver products to customers on time, while providing complete customer service
- Limited touch freight
- Backhauls as required
- Maintain DOT logs daily and comply with all other DOT procedures/regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor and trailer units, in compliance with DOT regulations
- Some warehouse work required between driving
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must have a valid Class A CDL license with a valid medical card
- Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial transportation
- Ability to operate a tractor-trailer in a safe and efficient manner
- Possess knowledge of all applicable state and federal DOT regulations
- Ability to read and correctly interpret route manifests and invoices
- Must be able and willing to stand all day and lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation (occasionally 60-75 lbs)
- Previous experience with an Automatic On-Board Recording Device (AOBRDs), such as OMNI Trax, is preferred
- Forklift experience preferred, but not required
