Business Intelligence & Strategy Manager
About the Role
We’re looking for a senior, high-impact analytics leader who blends hands-on BI and SQL capability with strategic thinking and business judgment.
This role goes beyond reporting. You’ll help shape how we measure performance, diagnose problems, and make decisions across the business. You’ll own key dashboards and analyses, but more importantly, you’ll help translate data into clear recommendations that influence strategy, operations, and growth.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Analytics & Decision Support
- Act as a thought partner to senior leadership on performance, growth, and operational strategy
- Turn ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and clear answers
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities — and proactively bring insights forward
- Help define success metrics, KPIs, and measurement frameworks that drive behavior
Business Intelligence & Reporting Oversight
- Own and evolve executive-level dashboards and recurring reporting (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Ensure reporting is accurate, trusted, and aligned to agreed-upon definitions
- Balance speed vs. precision by knowing when “directionally right” beats perfect
- Review and improve existing dashboards for clarity, usability, and decision relevance
Hands-On SQL & Data Work
- Write and review SQL to extract, join, and validate data across multiple sources
- Partner with data engineering to improve data models, views, and semantic layers
- Debug data issues and reconcile discrepancies between systems
- Build one-off analyses when leadership needs fast, credible answers
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, Marketing, Product, and Tech teams
- Support forecasting, planning, and post-mortem analysis on major initiatives
- Help teams understand why metrics are moving and not just that they moved
- Serve as a trusted translator between technical teams and business leaders
Requirements
Experience
- 7–10 years in analytics, BI, strategy, or related roles
- Experience supporting senior leaders with data-driven insights
- Background in multi-unit, B2C, operations-heavy, or growth-focused environments is a plus
Technical Skills
- Strong SQL skills (required)
- Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools (required)
- Advanced Excel / spreadsheet modeling skills
- Comfortable working with imperfect data and evolving systems
Strategic & Soft Skills
- Strong business intuition that understands how companies actually operate.
- Ability to synthesize complex analysis into crisp executive narratives
- Comfortable pushing back when the data says something unpopular
- Proactive, curious, and biased toward action
