About the Role
Unkitawa is seeking a dedicated Indigenous Wellness Coordinator to support our Indigenous Wellness Program. This part-time, hybrid position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations by managing logistics, communications, and event support. The coordinator will work closely with the Indigenous Wellness Manager to strengthen program effectiveness and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
• Administrative Support: Manage calendars, correspondence, meeting agendas, notes, and program files.
• Data & Reporting: Enter participant data, track attendance, maintain pantry metrics, and generate basic reports.
• Communications: Draft social media posts, newsletters, flyers, and outreach materials; respond to inquiries and coordinate vendors.
• Event & Program Support: Assist with setup/takedown, supply ordering, logistics, and day-of support for Talking Circles, workshops, and pantry days.
• Team Engagement: Attend weekly check-ins, staff meetings, and Unkitawa annual events, providing hands-on support.
Qualifications
• Experience in administrative support, office management, or related field.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Canva.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Understanding of Indigenous communities, culture, and values (preferred).
• Must be in good standing with the community.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Current food handler’s card (or ability to obtain).
• Experience with social media and communications.
Schedule & Requirements
• Part-time, up to 32 hours per week.
• Hybrid work allowed with Manager’s approval (minimum 3 days onsite).
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).
• Local candidates only; relocation assistance not provided.
