Summary/Objective
Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations, responsible for providing leadership and management to all aspects of the systems, services, infrastructure, networks and end-user technology platforms throughout University Schools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, daily operation and maintenance of network infrastructure, telecommunications systems, servers, databases, storage systems, and security systems.
- Work with other IT staff and other departments in the coordination of projects, training, procedures and administrative guidelines involving technology. Provide operational and project management.
- Serve as a consultant to the school’s staff and assists in the use of technology to support instruction and integrate with the school’s curriculum and instill in students the concepts of discovery, research and experimentation through technology.
- Oversee, research, design and coordinate development of strategic solutions to address business and educational needs. Evaluate and specify systems and technologies. Develop processes and procedures for efficient, utilization, security, compliance and operation of technology systems, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity process and all other IT support services provided.
- Design, implement and maintain the school’s phone/voicemail, intercom systems, public address systems, video distribution systems and other audio-visual systems.
- Manage and supervise all employees in responsibility areas, may assist in the recruitment, selection, training, professional development and evaluation of staff; makes recommendations regarding goals, provides constructive feedback and takes corrective action if necessary.
- Manage the technology budgets, including vendor management and internal procurement process.
- Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments related to the position by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge and experience with best practices for network design, operation, and troubleshooting techniques
- Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals.
- Operating knowledge of PA Systems and audio/video design and operation.
- Operating knowledge of Student Information Systems (Infinite Campus Preferred), Google Applications and other school software applications
- Advanced knowledge of software application development processes, programming and operating systems.
- Advanced knowledge and skill in integrating technology into classroom instruction.
- Advanced knowledge of:
- voice/data communication systems and networks
- business applications
- Internet/intranet access
- computer maintenance
- data warehouse services
- Knowledge about laws and legal issues related to copyright, student data privacy, filtering and other aspects of school technology use.

Education, Qualification and Related Work Experience
* Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, engineering or related field.
- Master's Degree in related field preferred.
- Preferred three to five years of management experience in IT operations, customer support, project management and team leadership.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network or Security , Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or the CCSP/CISSP are desired.
Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in the use of technology to support instruction.
- Formal training (courses, workshops, conferences) in the use and implementation of technology in a school setting.
- Successful experience training others and serving as a resource in the use of technology.
- Experience using a network to store, retrieve, and disseminate files and documents to end-users.
- Software troubleshooting experience.
- Successful supervisory experience.
Licenses, Registrations or Certifications
- Background check required for hire.
