ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
University Radiology is seeking a part-time registered MRI Technologist to be a part of our outpatient only
Orthopedic MRI services team. Applicants will need to maintain a safe MRI environment for patients and
clinical professionals as well as provide a patient first, friendly, and service minded approach. Ideal candidate will be able to work every Friday and at least 1 six-hour Saturday shift per month. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Analyzing patient histories and completing patient information screenings
· Preparing and administering contrast dyes
· Addressing patients’ concerns and ensuring that they are comfortable and calm during scans
· Performing regular inspections of the MRI equipment and machines, and scheduling maintenance and
repairs as needed
· Positioning the patients and completing MRI scans according to the physicians' specifications
· Ensuring that the MRI rooms are kept clean, tidy, and safe at all times
· Training junior MRI Technologists and providing support to new staff
· Working with Medical Director and other stakeholders to maintain needed accreditation
· Carrying out quality assurance procedures and implementing improvements as required
· Evaluate images for data and technical quality and according to protocol
· Assists in inventory control
· Proficient in clerical duties to include RIS, PACS, and patient EMR systems
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Must have completed a radiography educational program that is accredited by a mechanism
acceptable to the ARRT
· Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
obtained prior to hire date
· Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging
· Excellent verbal communication skills
· Analytical skills
