The Wayne Health Mobile Units deliver an ever-expanding menu of health care and social services directly to neighborhoods or places of employment. The Clinical Assistant is a medical professional that assists the Clinical Lead or Charge Registered Nurse with medical procedures and registration while ensuring high level of patient care. Job Description: Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Provides excellent customer service to deliver a positive patient and family experience, identifies and responds to any additional patient needs in a courteous and timely manner Treats others with care and respect while maintaining privacy and confidentiality at all times Collects (and updates as needed) patient demographics, insurance information, physician referrals and other check-in procedures according to defined protocols Schedules patient appointments according to defined protocols Maintains a safe and clean work area (indoors and outdoors) at Mobile Health Unit sites Travels to multiple Mobile Health Unit sites to conduct health screening events. While working in teams, manually distributes paper flyers via walking to communicate and educate public about Mobile Health Unit services Administers Social Determinates of Health questionnaire Assists patients in accessing health and community resources Completes patient intake including obtaining medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality Prepares patients for clinical examination and assists practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care Administers vaccines and medications while following the 2-Step Medication verification process. Provides clinical services to home bound patients and their caregivers in their homes Works as a team to ensure that all tasks associated with setting up/tearing down and patient-care related activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Other duties as assigned Education, Licensure/Certification, and Training Required for the Job: Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Patient Care Tech Experience in Mobile Health Unit preferred 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting Valid Driver’s License Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to use computer and software programs and systems Progressive inventory experience preferably in a health care environment Ability to drive a cargo van/RV Ability to adapt to working in outdoor elements, rain, snow, heat, in compliance with the departments Weather Policy. Ability to frequently lift and move Mobile Health Unit equipment weighing up to 40 lbs Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time Safety Requirements: Compliance with Department Health and Safety policies and procedures Working Conditions/Schedules: 40-hour workweek, hours and days (some weekends included) to be determined by the business needs of the department. Additional hours may be required. Must be able to work in a mobile unit environment with occasional onsite office hours. Anyone with an approved exemption must have weekly PCR COVID-19 testing on their own time and submit the results every Monday, before arriving at work.
