What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Staff Development position at University Park Healthcare Center?
POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of your job position is to oversee the development of staff at the facility and to help prevent and identify the spread of infectious agents like bacteria and viruses in the environment in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards that govern the facility, and as directed by your supervisors.
As Infection Control Nurse youwill have oversight of all infection control and prevention related activities within the facility. Performs infection prevention risk assessments and surveillance to comply with regulating agencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Directly supervises the Certified Nurses Assistants and the Restorative Nurses Aides.
· Assists with planning
· Develops the monthly schedule for CNA’s and RNA’s and ensures we have adequate coverage every day.
· Recruits for CNA’s and RNA’s.
· Assumes the role of Safety Committee Chairperson.
· Assumes the role of Infection Preventionist.
· On-boards all new hires.
· Conducts various in-services and educational presentations based off a regular schedule and on an as-needed basis.
· Other tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Temporary to hire position
Education / Licensure
High school diploma or GED
Current and valid LVN/RN license in good standing
Current CPR and BLS card
Qualifications / Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience as a LVN or RN in a skilled nursing facility
Strong organizational and time management skills
Warm smile and positive energy with the ability to cope with pressure
Strong leadership skills
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy and compassion
Effective communication skills, including active listening, writing, speaking and reading comprehension

May encounter frequent interruptions
May be involved with residents, family and government agencies

Pay: $40.00 - $44.00 per hour
