Our board certified surgeons each with sub specialty training offer the best care in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, joint replacement, traumatology, hand and upper extremity surgery, foot and ankle surgery and surgery of the spine.
We have an exciting full time opportunity to join our team in our Somerset office as an experienced Medical Insurance Representative.
To qualify, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Candidates must also have a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of previous experience with billing and coding. Orthopedic experience is strongly preferred. Proficient medical terminology is required, orthopedic and or physical/occupational therapy a plus. Bilingual is a plus.
We are looking for a dynamic individual with experience in billing, coding and accounts receivable. This position will be responsible for posting payments to patient accounts and handling the billing & collections for our orthopedic surgeons. Within this position, the successful candidate will be expected to review accounts for proper charge posting, manage claim edits, correct claims adjustments, post payments, handle patient questions/concerns in regards to their accounts and work the physician A/R.
Overview of Position Responsibilities:
- Strong working knowledge of computer systems, with experience in windows-based systems and Microsoft Office
- Experience with medical practice billing software required
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding and electronic billing required
- Ability to Multitask and Detail oriented
- Ability to answer phone calls and address patient account inquiries, calculate adjustments, insurance percentages for coinsurance, etc.
- Prioritize delinquent accounts for review
- Understand insurance benefits coverage as well as verify insurance eligibility and coverage for patients when applicable
- Knowledge of Stop Losses
- Establish financial agreements and payment plans when required
- Schedule patient appointments as needed
- Allscripts PRO PM/ Phoenix EMR system experience (a plus)

The hiring range for this role is $18 – $29 per hour.The range for this role is typically determined by several factors, including the geography in which the selected candidate will be working, and alignment with qualifications and experience. Certain roles may also be eligible for additional compensation (bonus, etc) and/or benefits. In addition, full-time employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, vison and retirement plan.
