The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering is seeking candidates for an open rank tenure-track faculty position with research interests in the broad area of industrial engineering. We are interested in the research areas of system-level modeling and operations optimization for smart and connected systems, such as healthcare systems and manufacturing systems. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, novel methods and algorithms for decision making and optimization, supply chain modeling and management, healthcare/manufacturing/ service system modeling and operations management, and system improvement through human factors engineering and sociotechnical design. Key Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and contributing to curriculum updates and innovations to educate a diverse student body; mentoring graduate students and supervising their research; developing and directing a well-recognized and extramurally funded research program; participating in departmental and university faculty governance; contributing to professional and public service; participating in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools, and colleges.

  • Negotiable - 9 months / ongoing / renewable

Required Qualifications:

  • Applicants should have an outstanding academic record, exceptional potential for creative research, and a commitment to both undergraduate and graduate education in industrial and systems engineering. Appointment to this tenure-track position requires a PhD degree be received prior to start of appointment.

  • The candidate's years of experience and professional accomplishments will be commensurate with the rank sought. Associate and Full professor candidates must possess experience and scholarly credentials that meet the tenure standards of the UW-Madison Divisional Committee and the College of Engineering.

Education:

  • Earned PhD in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related fields, obtained by date of hire.
