Job Summary:

The Office of Human Resources serves all faculty and staff at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, housing multiple functional areas with varied administrative support needs. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for managing a busy front desk, providing administrative support, including scheduling and communication management, while serving as the primary point of contact for visitors and callers, often requiring independent decision-making and advanced proficiency in office software to efficiently support multiple departments within the Office of Human Resources.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
  • Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures
  • Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision
  • Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums
  • Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
  • Special project support as needed
  • Scanning and appending documents to electronic files

Compensation:

  • The starting hourly rate for this position is $24.00. Actual pay is determined at hire and is based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office-Word and Excel)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with front desk operations
  • Experience with customer service in a higher education environment

Education:

  • High School Diploma Required
