What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities: Heating/Cooling Plant Operator I position at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire?
POSITION: A full-time university staff position is available in Facilities beginning as soon as possible. The official title for this assignment is Heat/Cool Plant Operator I with a working title of Boiler Operator. This is an expected-to-continue assignment, which requires a twelve-month probationary period during which all operational aspects of the heating plant will be learned.

Required Qualifications
- Mechanical Aptitude.
- Clean Driving Record to allow driving State vehicles.
- General computer and keyboard skills
- Physical ability to walk, stand, sit, lift, and climb ladders.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- High level of dedication to quality service by interacting directly with students, staff or other external customers.
- Military Service
- Graduate of Building, Utility, or Maintenance related program with two years of experience in a related field.
- Boiler License from an accredited organization or three years of experience operating and maintaining boilers.
- Industrial maintenance experience repairing motors, pumps, fans, or gear reductions.
- Experience with metal fabrication.
