Assists the head coach in all aspects of a collegiate volleyball program including individual workouts, practice schedules, game preparation, scouting, recruiting, and monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes. Creating marketing materials for volleyball clinics and special promotional games.Department Intercollegiate AthleticsFLSA : ExemptMinimum Qualifications : Bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of coaching experience at the high school level or above. Successful experience as a graduate assistant or intern in an athletic program is acceptable for up to one year of the required experience.Position Qualifications : Graphic design skills. Knowledge of marketing principles. Knowledgeable about the game of volleyball and the basic fundamentals of teaching the sport. Knowledgeable of UWF, GSC, and NCAA Division II policies and procedures.Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of experience.Essential Functions / Job Duties : 51% - Assist the head coach with all aspects of the intercollegiate women's volleyball program at the University of West Florida. Responsible for assistance in the coordination and direction of the intercollegiate volleyball program as follows : (1) instruct the athletes on how to perform volleyball (2) establish an appropriate schedule for varsity competition, (3) determines size of squad, physical development of program, appropriate practices, etc. (4) coordinate necessary travel arrangements such as securing transportation and hotel accommodations, (5) assist head volleyball coach in determining budgetary needs for the development of volleyball budget within the guidelines of appropriated funds. Monitors academic progress of student athletes and works to ensure academic success through study halls, tutors, etc. Complies with all NCAA, Gulf South Conference, and UWF policies and procedures. - (Essential)19% - Recruit and market program to potential student athletes to participate in women's volleyball within the guidelines of the NCAA and university rules and policies. - (Essential)30% - Create marketing materials for volleyball program for promotional games and clinics. Market volleyball program to local volleyball clubs and general public to drive attendance at games and clinics. Create and execute community outreach initiatives to increase awareness of volleyball program.
