DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Our Medicine and Cardiology (6NE) unit is a 30-bed unit that provides acute care for a variety of medical, surgical, and cardiology patients requiring telemetry monitoring. The unit cares for patients with respiratory, cardiac, or surgical conditions and patients who have undergone procedures.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Serve as a clinical resource for staff
Provide training and direction to new employees
Foster a positive work environment and promote staff development
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to develop and implement unit policies and procedures
Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards
Assist with performance evaluations and recruitment
Monitor patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Coordinate patient care, including admissions, discharges, and transfers
Address patient and family concerns and provide excellent customer service
REQUIREMENTS
Current UW Medical Center – Montlake RN
At least 2 years of current/recent inpatient acute care med-surg nursing experience
Demonstrated leadership and/or charge nurse experience
Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington
