What are the responsibilities and job description for the EKG Technician position at University of Vermont Health?
General Summary
The EKG Technician is primarily responsible for performing the technical aspects of taking electrocardiograms, applying and removing arrhythmia monitors, exercise and radionuclide exercise testing, collecting vital signs and supporting RN in cardiac rehab, and scanning Holter monitors as ordered by the physicians. Additionally, all required paperwork associated with the above procedures must be completed in an accurate and timely manner.

Education/Skills Required
- High school graduate or equivalent
- EKG certification preferred; prior experience helpful.
- Successful completion of AHA-BLS is required within 6 months of hire
- Previous cardiology experience will be considered first
- Basic working knowledge of human cardiac anatomy, physiology, arrhythmias, and acquired heart disease preferred.
