What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Department Technician position at University of Vermont Health - Central Vermont...?

Under the supervision and/or direction of the Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician I performs various direct and indirect patient care activities in accordance with the Nursing Department policies and procedures. The ED Technician I demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to consistently provide care appropriate to the age of the patient, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric, and demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development. The Emergency Technician I may be assigned other duties in accordance with hospital/department policies, procedures and protocols.

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • LNA or EMT, both state and national, are required.


Experience:

  • Six months experience in a hospital or ambulance service preferred.
