Student Services Advisor – Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Student Services Advisor plays a vital role in supporting student success by providing high-quality customer service, comprehensive advising, and individualized student support. Serving as a primary point of contact, the advisor delivers timely, accurate, and student-centered assistance while guiding students through their academic journey. This role emphasizes responsiveness, professionalism, and relationship-building to ensure students feel supported, informed, and empowered to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals.Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Support Services· Provide high-quality, student-centered customer service by responding to student inquiries in a timely, professional, and solution-oriented manner.· Serve as a primary point of contact for students, offering guidance related to academic concerns, enrollment questions, and personal challenges.· Connect students with appropriate campus resources, including tutoring, career services, financial aid.· Conduct proactive outreach to students identified as at risk and collaborate with internal teams to implement intervention and retention strategies.· Assist students in navigating institutional processes, policies, and requirements, ensuring clarity and understanding.· Advocate for students by identifying barriers to success and coordinating with relevant departments to support resolution.· Maintain confidentiality and adhere to FERPA and institutional guidelines while providing student support services.Administrative Responsibilities· Maintain accurate and timely student records, advising/student services notes, and documentation in institutional systems.· Ensure compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and FERPA regulations.· Collaborate with internal departments to support coordinated and effective student services.Student Engagement and Outreach· Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.· Participate in student orientation programs, recruitment events, workshops, and campus activities.· Support institutional initiatives focused on student engagement, persistence, and success.Academic Support· Monitor academic progress and implement proactive intervention strategies to support retention and completion.· Educate students on academic policies, program requirements, and institutional procedures.
