Purpose

The Student Program Coordinator will develop and coordinate student recruitment strategies that support the Canfield Business Honors Program (Canfield BHP) goals, from coordinating admissions processes and reviewing applicant files to advising prospective students on program options.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of staff contact for prospective freshmen, internal and external transfer students, and families regarding admission requirements, programs of study, student-related services, and other opportunities for students at large and small-scale admissions events hosted by Canfield Business Honors, the McCombs School of Business and the Office of Admissions when appropriate. Coordinate and conduct recruitment programs and events across Texas and out of state to promote Canfield Business Honors and its specialized dual degree programs (Texas CSB, Plan II, and Texas ECB) for the purpose of creating highly-selective and talented student enrollment. Identify and attend regional and national conferences to promote Canfield Business Honors to high school students interested in business.

  • In coordination with the Director of Enrollment Management, conduct admitted student events across Texas, out of state, and virtually to promote Canfield Business Honors and its specialized dual degree programs (Texas CSB, Plan II, and Texas ECB). Coordinate and execute Discover Canfield Business Honors, a day-long event for 200 admitted students and their families.

  • Hire, train, and manage student recruitment team and its initiatives. Manage weekly prospective student information sessions for high school students and semesterly sophomore admissions information sessions. Serve as the primary liaison between the Canfield recruitment team and the BBA Outreach offices for joint outreach efforts. Serve as the staff lead for information sessions for joint programs and presentations regarding Plan II, Texas CSB, and Texas ECB.

  • Serve on Canfield Business Honors admissions committees for both freshman and sophomore admissions. Read and holistically evaluate applications for Canfield Business Honors, Texas CSB, and Texas ECB. Manage current student and alumni outreach for admitted students.

  • Work with supervisor in developing standards for attainment of recruiting goals and objectives. Evaluate and report on effectiveness of recruitment programs and activities. Participate in McCombs/BBA wide events for current students.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years' experience coordinating or administering a program.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-moving environment with multiple overlapping deadlines.

  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and follow-through ability.

  • Strong oral and written communication with large and small groups of stakeholders, experience presenting information and fielding questions.

  • Strong commitment to interpersonal relationships with on campus and off campus partners. Commitment to excellent customer service.

  • Ability and willingness to work independently and as a collaborative team member.

  • Previous success effectively navigating formal and informal communication and decision-making channels.

  • Diplomacy and sound judgment in working with students, families, staff, faculty, and administrators.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences or education.

  • Previous experience working in college admissions or recruitment.

  • Previous experience working with high achieving/honors students.

  • Experience with traveling and presenting on behalf of a university.

  • Prior experience of UT admissions and student policies.

  • Prior experience with Slate CRM system.

  • Creative problem-solving skills.

Salary Range
  • $50,000 annually

Working Conditions
  • Works in a standard office environment with repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

  • Some evening and weekend hours will be required during peak periods and special events.

  • Travel required, including in state and out of state.

  • This is an Austin, TX-based position and is eligible for hybrid work.

Employment Eligibility:
