The Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Community Oral Health at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences seeks a vibrant pediatric dentist to join our passionate team of academic clinicians. This is a part-time, non-tenure Open Rank Professor position. This position provides primarily clinical supervision of dental students and residents, although some didactic lecturing may be required.


  • Provide supervision of dental students and residents involved in patient care.
  • Didactic course development and delivery.
  • Instruction in a predoctoral lab course.
  • Participation in College of Dentistry committees and priorities.
  • Individuals new to academics will be expected to participate in professional development activities to establish a scholarly foundation for didactic and clinical teaching activities.
  • Additional duties at the discretion of the Department Chair.
  • Participation in resident and student research projects.

EDUCATION: DDS or DMD or international equivalent.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATION: TN dental license or eligible.

DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES:

  • Experience in hospital dentistry and advanced behavior guidance techniques.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Dentist by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
