Job Description

The Coordinator for Greek Housing will assist the Associate Director with administrative oversight & support of sorority & fraternity housing including approximately 1,100 beds and 30 houses/facilities, as well as assist with the recruitment and training of student staff and volunteers. Additionally, the Coordinator for Greek Housing assists in the coordination of house director and house manager trainings, and coordinates facilities-related requests with facilities services. This position will meet individually and in groups with house directors and house managers and maintain strong working/collaborative relationships with chapter advisors, house corporations, (inter)national headquarters, and supporters.

Responsibilities

ADMINISTRATION

  • Responsible for the collection/verification of housing contracts
  • Administer the billing/collection process
  • Facilitate facility inspections
  • Grant/Withdraw VolCard Access
  • Maintain accurate facility rosters and grant access to chapter members semesterly
  • Facilitate GF/GS Parking Tags process for affiliated students
  • Assist with House Director recruitment/training/development
  • Assist in recruitment, training, and support of student staff and volunteers
  • Assist in coordination of house director and house manager meetings
  • Coordinate facilities related requests with facilities management
  • Facilitate fall and spring student check-in and check-out system
  • Initiate change, developing, and implementing new ideas and concepts as appropriate
  • Participate in departmental and division programs, meetings, and committees as needed.

Crisis Management And On-call Responsibilities

  • Make appropriate referrals to university support services i.e., Student Health, Counseling Services, Behavior Assessment Team, and/or Student Ombuds
  • Respond to emergencies and providing leadership in crisis situations, collaborating with campus partners when appropriate
  • Practice effective communication with university administration, organizational leadership, and, if applicable, law enforcement or emergency personnel
  • Serve as a resource or referral agent for students experiencing personal concerns or crisis

COMMUNICATION, OUTREACH & PARTNERSHIP

  • Serve as resource for students, parents/families, faculty/staff, and community and headquarters partners on issues related to sorority and fraternity housing
  • Assist in facilitation of community public relations including website content updates, reports, publication content, etc.

EDUCATION & PROGRAMMING

  • Assist in the management and implementation of other OSFL programming/education, including areas of wellness, prevention, health & safety, bystander intervention, hazing education, and facilities related responsibilities
  • Develop and implement annual training for undergraduate house managers and full-time house directors
  • Meet regularly with house directors and house corporation representatives

POLICY ENFORCEMENT

  • Respond appropriately to student concerns and addressing student issues
  • Follow all university and department policies, procedures, regulations, and rules including but not limited to those pertaining to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination
  • Consult with the Associate Director to refer cases to organizational standards boards, Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life, Title IX, CHEW, or Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 2 yrs of related professional experience; Master's degree can substitute for 1 yr of related professional experience; 2 yrs as graduate assistant/intern is equal to 1 yr of professional experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Strong interpersonal, communication (oral/written), listening, and student advocacy skills; Ability to work/collaborate with internal/external constituents, and foster positive and productive relationships; Ability to make sound decisions; Ability to climb up and down several flights of stairs and lift 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations, if necessary; Ability to perform basic to intermediate functions of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (or similar software); Ability to work independently and maintain confidential information; Ability to perform basic to intermediate functions of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (or similar software); Ability to work independently and maintain confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, College Student Personnel, Business, Educational Psychology, Curriculum Design, Education, or related field.
  • Experience: Professional experience working with fraternity/sorority housing.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of trends/issues affecting sorority/fraternity communities; Knowledge of student development/learning theory and their application; Ability to incorporate principles of diversity/social justice into decision making; Strong presentation, organization, retreat planning, and supervision/management skills; Ability to handle sensitive and privileged information and staying abreast of regulations regarding student privacy and information sharing; Knowledge of inter/national governing organizations (NPC, IFC, NPHC, MGC, NALFO, NAPA, Etc.).

Compensation And Benefits

  • UT market range: MR08
  • Anticipated hiring range: Minimum starting salary $50,000. Final salary commensurate with education and experience.
