Hourly Range
The hourly rate range for this position is $59.48 - $68.17. Minimum Education: Specialized/technical training in related field(s) Minimum Certifications: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification Minimum Experience: 3 years Full-time work experience as a Cytotechnologist within the preceding 10 years. Minimum Skills: Experience with general laboratory techniques. Familiarity with laboratory quality management programs and CLIA proficiency testing. Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree Biology Or Bachelor's degree in related field(s) Preferred Experience: 5 years Full-time work experience as a Cytotechnologist within the preceding 10 years.

The Incumbent Will
- Prepare and microscopically examine slides of human cell samplings for the presence of disease or other abnormality.
- Receive, accession and process GYN and Non-GYN specimens, blocks, and slides.
- Assist FNA and biopsy procedures and perform quick adequacy assessment.
- Monitor incoming phone inquiries and requests.
- Serve as the general supervisor of the cytology laboratory as defined by CLIA and is responsible for day-to-day supervision of the laboratory operations and personnel in the absence of the supervisor.
- Perform CAP survey samples and competency exams accurately and within the established time frame.
- Perform QC/QA functions, including QC correlations, prospective and retrospective case reviews, and statistical records.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.
- Maintain and organize laboratory supplies. Monitor inventory levels and prepare simple reagents as needed.
