Faculty position to teach on the Spartanburg and/or Greenville campus.

Be a Spartan! The Director of Field Experiences for the Department of Health and Physical Education (DoHPH) is responsible for coordinating all aspects of field experiences and internships for students in the Exercise and Sport Science (EXSC) program, Community Health, and potentially for the Sport Management program. This position works closely with the Chair of DoHPH, faculty, the administrative assistant, and external public partners. The Director is charged with developing, implementing, and enforcing all relevant policies and procedures related to field experiences and internships as established by the College of Education, Human Performance, and Health (CoEHPH) and the Department of Health and Physical Education (DoHPH). Additionally, the Director will be expected to teach 2 courses for each major semester.

Required Education and Experience
  • A master’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • At least five years of professional experience in a related field.
  • A demonstrated commitment to professional development.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills—both oral and written.
  • Proven ability to manage and track multiple individuals or processes simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, public partners, and members of the community.
  • A successful background check are required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience coordinating internships, practicums, or experiential learning programs in higher education or health-related settings.
  • Prior experience supervising students in applied settings (clinical, fitness, wellness, rehabilitation, sport performance, or community health).
  • Established network of professional partnerships with healthcare, wellness, or performance organizations.
  • Proven ability to use technology to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to solve problems independently.
  • Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality in professional settings.
  • Experience with program assessment, accreditation standards, or outcome evaluation.
