These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Supervises a team of ticket writers, ensuring they adhere to campus parking regulations and policies.
- Issues electronic and handwritten parking citations or warnings.
- Handles ticket complaints and issues in the field or office if necessary.
- Locates lost, stolen, and counterfeit parking permits and takes necessary enforcement actions.
- Reports infractions of other university regulations to proper authorities.
- Reports possible lot hazards and suspicious activity via two-way radio.
- Checks listing of vehicles to be booted or towed and assists with or applies boots/tow.
- Trains new ticket writers on proper procedures, customer services, and legal aspects of ticketing.
- Evaluates ticket writers’ performance and provides feedback or corrective action when necessary.
- Ensures that all parking citations are issued in accordance with campus policies and local regulations.
- Addresses disputes or concerns from students. faculty, or staff regarding citations.
- Serves as a point of contact for questions or concerns about parking tickets or enforcement.
- Enforces campus parking rules, including issuing citations for improper parking, and ensuring safety and tows as necessary.
- Creates and manages work schedules for ticket writers to ensure proper coverage across the campus.
- Ensures that ticket writers are equipped with the necessary tools, handheld devices or citation books, and handles any technical issues.
- Helps maintain vehicles used by Parking Services.
- Works closely with police department to address any high-priority enforcement issues or emergencies related to Parking Services.
- Performs regular checks on ticket writers to ensure proper ticketing and professionalism are maintained.
- Provides unlocking of vehicles to assist police call load, if necessary, within established guidelines and following the proper procedures.
- Assists with information exchanges between individuals involved in an accident occurring in assigned parking zones to assist police load if necessary.
- Provides directional and parking information as requested.
- Inspects and reports on the physical components of the parking areas, including surface conditions, curbing, lighting, signs, etc.
- Collects and reports data such as usage of parking areas, lot occupancy, and usage patterns.
- Assists with special events as needed.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime hours as required.
- Related duties as required.
