Responsibilities
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Alabama Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine and USA Health is seeking an accomplished physician leader to serve as Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
The Division Chief will provide visionary leadership to a growing hospital medicine program based at USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, the primary multispecialty referral center for the region. Responsibilities include oversight of a dedicated team of pediatric hospitalists, inpatient clinical care, and active participation in the education of medical students and residents. The Chief will foster a culture of collaboration, quality, and innovation, while advancing program development, patient safety, and scholarly activity.
Qualified candidates must be Board Certified in General Pediatrics or General Pediatrics/Internal Medicine with significant experience in pediatric hospital medicine. Board eligibility in Pediatric Hospital Medicine is preferred but not required. Candidates should demonstrate leadership experience, academic achievement, and a strong commitment to excellence in clinical care and teaching. Academic appointment and rank will be commensurate with training, experience, and academic productivity.
