Responsibilities
- Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine; recording intake and output information; reporting observations of the resident to nurses.
- Provides patient omfort by answering patient/resident call lights and requests; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Protects healthcare organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
- Serves and protects the healthcare community by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and JCAHO standards.
- · Assist residents with routine health directions from a physician, nurse or therapist.
- Provides patient/resident support by assisting with travel to the bathroom; feeding patient/residents; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients/residents; applying restraints; transporting patients/residents; serving meals, blood glucose
- Maintain education as assigned in Healthstream
- Position requires frequent standing and walking, along with lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping/crouching, and occasional sitting.
- Maintain occupational health records as needed per USA Health Policy
- Run Errands for nurse and Physcian as needed
- Work as a team and promote quality outcomes for patients

- Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required

Additional Information
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related experience Required
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant with the sate of Alabama Upon Hire Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support obtained through the American Red Cross within 30 Days Required
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
