Position Summary
The Assistant Athletic Director for Game Day Operations & Broadcasting oversees all aspects of home athletic event operations and digital broadcasting at the University of Saint Mary. This role ensures a high‑quality, mission‑aligned experience for student‑athletes, visiting teams, officials, and fans, while leading the university’s livestreaming and digital production efforts.
A signature responsibility of this position is the recruitment, training, and leadership of a comprehensive student Webcasting Team, developing a robust pipeline of students interested in sports broadcasting, communications, digital media, and event production.
The position collaborates closely with the Sports Information Director, Head Coaches, and USM Marketing and appropriate Academic programs while playing a key leadership role within Saint Mary Athletics.

Essential Functions
- Embrace and uphold the USM Mission.
- Responsible for USM Athletic Department game and event management staffing and organization for all sports home schedules.
- Create detailed game scripts, operational timelines, staffing plans, and facility layouts.
- Responsible for scheduling and supervision of Athletic Work Study students.
- Oversee livestream production for home athletic contests, weekly coaches’ shows, interviews, and digital content.
- Manage all technical aspects of broadcasts: cameras, audio, replay, graphics, overlays, streaming platforms, scoreboard integrations, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure broadcasts meet quality expectations, University branding standards, and communication goals.
- Recruit and build a comprehensive student Webcasting Team, including camera operators, technical directors, commentators, graphics/replay staff, and studio crew.
- Create a positive, educational environment that gives students hands on production experience.
- Lead weekly production meetings, rehearsals, and skill-development sessions.
- Evaluate student performance and provide consistent coaching and learning opportunities
- Contribute to department wide planning, scheduling, and strategic initiatives.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Experience in athletic event operations, live broadcasting, livestream production, or related area.
- Ability to learn software programs that support USM Athletics.
- Experience supervising or mentoring student workers or staff.
- Must have working knowledge of NAIA and KCAC rules and regulations.
- Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs. and sit or stand for long periods of time.
