The University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Facilities Assistant. Saint Francis is a Catholic, Franciscan university in the liberal arts tradition. The Facilities Assistant will report to the Director of Physical Plant and will have responsibility over facilities maintenance, equipment and supply transportation, event set-up and teardown, and campus grounds support. They will also ensure the university's Catholic identity, Franciscan charism, and commitment to the liberal arts remain at the center of our educational mission and public identity. The Facilities Assistant is responsible for assisting the Director of Physical Plant in advancing the university's efforts in implementing the new mission statement and strategic plan. The successful candidate would be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds, including lifting items overhead, as an essential function of the position. They would be able to set up furniture in a timely fashion, organized to complete set-ups according to an event plan, meet timelines for events, and tear downs after events. This person would also maintain campus trash and assist with maintenance and cleanliness assignments as needed. They would need to be able to function independently and cooperatively as the situation requires. The new Facilities Assistant is expected to begin serving no later than September 14, 2026.
