What are the responsibilities and job description for the Postdoctoral Associate position at University of Rochester?
Description
The postdoctoral trainee will work primarily on the "MOST for PTSD" randomized clinical trial. This trial is evaluating ways to promote the effectiveness and efficiency of existing, well-established behavioral interventions by understanding if and how they engage putative mechanisms of diverse psychiatric disorders in the pediatric trauma population. The trainee will be responsible for executing both research and clinical duties during the active treatment phase of this clinical trial. The position emphasizes the training of independent, clinical scientists who will assume leadership roles in academic and research institutions. The position is for a 12-month period with the option to renew for additional years, contingent on performance. The postdoctoral trainee will report to Dr. Chad Shenk, Director of the Innovation in Pediatric Trauma and Behavioral Health Research Laboratory at the University of Rochester's Department of Psychology and Mt. Hope Family Center.
This fellowship will provide excellent training opportunities for those interested in: 1) designing and administering clinical trials research; 2) delivering multiple evidence-based behavioral interventions for pediatric trauma; 3) data collection, data analysis, and authorship on conference presentations and publications; 4) certification in established interventions capable of addressing a variety of psychiatric complaints common in the pediatric trauma population; and 5) acquiring supervised hours needed for licensure as a psychologist.
