Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Under the direction of leadership, is accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
Location- Child/Adolescent Partial Hospitalization, Pediatric Behavioral Health & Wellness, & Brighter Days Pediatric Urgent Care
FT 40 hours 7:30am-4:30pm (Hours can vary between clinics)
Will play a vital role in supporting multiple programs within Ambulatory Psychiatry, including Pediatric Behavioral Health & Wellness, Brighter Days Pediatric Urgent Care, and the Child Partial Hospitalization Program. These clinics provide comprehensive mental health care for young people up to age 18, working as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes therapists and medication providers.Triaging complex patient presentations, which may involve medically related concerns, and psychosocial needs. Conducting patient assessments and completing health screenings. Administering medications (where applicable), managing medication refills, and handling prior authorizations. Fast-paced environment and will need to adapt to the dynamic needs of each assignment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive, and possesses exceptional critical thinking skills, with the ability to make independent decisions while collaborating effectively within a team. This role is perfect for a nurse who is passionate about pediatric mental health and eager to make a meaningful impact across diverse care settings.
One-year Psychiatric Experience Required. Requires NYS RN License.
