This exciting, career-advancing role offers immersive involvement in clinical and translational research within the Orthopaedic Shoulder Division. The position provides extensive exposure to high-quality research, data management, and interdisciplinary collaboration with surgeons, biomechanists, and motion science experts. It is an excellent fit for MS3–MS4 medical students or recent medical graduates pursuing Orthopaedic Surgery and seeking a strong research foundation for residency applications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review, enter, validate, and manage clinical and research data for assigned studies.
  • Maintain study charts, case report forms, regulatory documents, and protocol-specific logs.
  • Resolve data queries and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations and SOPs.
  • Prepare electronic logs, data status reports, and source data worksheets.
  • Collaborate with investigators, study staff, and cross-functional research teams.
  • Develop data collection tools and support quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal/state research requirements and complete required training.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Support high-volume shoulder research, including retrospective and prospective data collection.
  • Contribute to manuscripts, abstracts, figures, and presentations (20 per year possible).
  • Work on biomechanics and motion-analysis projects with nationally recognized leaders in the Shoulder and Sports Medicine Divisions.
  • Participate in OR and clinic observation, journal clubs, research meetings, and biomechanics lab activities.
  • Engage in outcomes analysis, study design, and multi-center or database-driven projects.


Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree 1 year of relevant experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in biomechanics, orthopaedics, or related research areas strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within research teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with research protocols and medical terminology preferred.
  • Preferred: MS3–MS4 students or recent graduates highly motivated for Orthopaedic Surgery; research experience; strong writing and communication skills; statistical experience (R/SPSS) a plus.


Fully onsite

Pay range starting at $21.36/hr
