Adjunct Nursing Faculty

POSITION SUMMARY

University of Providence is seeking a dedicated and experienced Adjunct Nursing Faculty to join our institution's nursing program. Adjunct Nursing Faculty have a vital role in providing quality education to nursing students, contributing to their academic and professional development. This position involves teaching nursing courses, facilitating clinical experiences, and participating in curriculum development to ensure the delivery of an exceptional nursing program. Adjunct Faculty are not eligible for tenure. Adjunct positions are located either on or off-campus with the option for remote work. Position will entail both clinical and didactic responsibilities. Experience in maternal-child nursing, pediatric nursing, behavioral health nursing preferred. Additional nursing expertise will be considered. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adjunct Faculty: Carries a teaching load of no more than 14 credit hours per academic year
  • Course teaching includes the full-range BSN nursing content in both didactic and clinical teaching depending on expertise: nursing leadership, clinical nursing practice, evidence-based practice, physiology and pharmacology, and community and population health; all courses reflect baccalaureate education standards (AACN Essentials for Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice, 2021)
  • Assists with academic and quality processes to maintain full Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Accreditation for the nursing program.
  • May conduct or work with a team to conduct and publish research projects as a mechanism in developing the nursing program, faculty and students. Research findings and research projects will be conducted in collaboration with the Providence System Office Research Council. 
  • Provides service to the program, university, profession, and community. 
  • Engages in scholarly activities to include academic publications and research presentations at national conferences to further advance the nursing profession. 
  • May assist with program management, accreditation, curricula, and quality improvement.
  • The faculty position is located on campus and faculty are required to attend faculty development and other required events indicated by the nursing program and/or university. Travel is paid for by the nursing program.
  • Position may include both clinical and didactic responsibilities. 

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • MSN Graduate degree in nursing required; Earned doctorate in nursing or higher education-related field preferred. Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of current residence.
  • Ability to obtain a Montana state RN License (or privilege to practice from the Nurse Licensure Compact). 

EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning and educational theories and techniques.
  • Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of software programs and communication methods is required; this includes Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills 
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and excellent time management skills.

FLSA:  Exempt

Salary: $1070/credit
