The Manager of Administration and Special Projects is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the administrative team in the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Research and managing a portfolio of cross-functional projects. This role combines hands-on administrative leadership with structured project management, including the planning and execution of both departmental and university-wide programs and events.
The Manager will provide direct oversight to two administrative staff members, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, consistent quality of work, and adherence to established processes. The role also leads a variety of special projects from inception through completion, coordinating across departments, managing project teams, and overseeing planning to meet defined timelines, budgets and objectives.
This role requires a proactive leader with exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Candidates must also have experience in administrative management and project leadership, excellent multitasking abilities, and proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
Essential Functions
Light physical effort as position is mostly sedentary. May be required to occasionally travel on and off campus to meetings or events.
