Manages capital and/or in-house projects during the design and construction phase to ensure project completion within budget, on schedule, and within scope. Determines client needs, develops designs and project timelines, monitors and forecasts budgets, and supervises contractual matters. Coordinates project effectively across multiple people and teams.
Oversight and management of the design and construction of multiple electrical capital projects for the university, focusing on preservations projects, infrastructure renovations to support changing research needs and building controls upgrades.
- Coordinates project requirements and schedules with internal and external stakeholders and ensures compliance with the project management process, established budgets, schedules, and University standards.
- Develops a scope of work that accurately reflects the client’s needs, budget, schedule, and university standards; defines project requirements not limited to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and fire protection systems; reviews life safety and building related specifics.
- Establishes and manages preliminary budget; develops, monitors, validates, and pays invoices; ensures the approval of project funding; reviews and approves applications for payment.
- Prepares and reviews contract documents to ensure compliance with all manuals, needs, and university standards; maintains proper documentation, computer records, and project management software.
- Makes recommendations for project selections; obtains reviews; coordinates with others to meet goals and objectives.
Moderate phys·cal effort required. May be required to stand/move for several hours at a time. May be required to claim ladders or access small spaces. May be required to move objects up to 50 pounds with or without assistance of equipment.
