UPMC Western Maryland is looking for a Crisis Clinician II to support our team at the Center for Hope & Healing!

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow into a supervisory role.

The Center for Hope & Healing is a residential crisis service facility where we provide support for adults with mental health illnesses and addictions. The Crisis Clinician, Supervisor is responsible for oversight and supervision at the Center for Hope & Healing.

This position is eligible for a generous sign-on bonus!

This is a full-time position that will primarily work Monday - Friday dayshift. Will need to have the flexibility to work evening, night, weekend or holiday shifts as needed. Will be required to assume rotating on-call responsibilities.

We offer weekly supervision by an approved licensed supervisor and CEU opportunities!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload for the shift.
  • Obtain clinical information in the medical record.
  • Provide supportive counseling to consumers to promote stability.
  • Work efficiently and independently in crisis setting.
  • Support consumer and negotiates appropriate referral services.
  • Completes face to face crisis assessments.
  • Responds to telephone calls from consumer(s) community and natural supports.
  • Serves as the lead clinician and responsible for overseeing daily functions.
  • Participates in orientation for new Crisis Clinicians.
  • Responsible for assisting consumer and clinical services with case consultation.
  • Manage crossover across shifts.
  • Support consumer and suggest/recommend appropriate referral services.
  • Provide supportive counseling to promote consumer stability.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary staff meetings and activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work with 2 years of mental health direct care experience with 1 year crisis experience OR Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work with 1 year mental health direct care experience. Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience.



    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Licensure in Social Work or Professional Counseling is preferred.
